Waynefest was truly awesome. Had a great time hanging out at the “Last Chance Saloon” with drummer Cory Papirny (from the album) and Ayla Brooks (be sure to check out http://www.aasoundsystem.com/home/), as well as the very lovable Paul Bellows (>http://www.paulbellows.com/). However, I was caught off guard by the beer served in quart, wide mouth mason jars and awoke in my car (being tentless and all) and in my clothes with a bit of a stinger.

The show was great; felt good to be playing with Cory and Jeff Smook again. And heard some very groovy performances before dinner. Then, it was deep fried steak and/or chicken served in Albertan-style straight from the pitchfork. Seeing Carolyn Mark perform was a treat, including her onstage aerobics with Ford Pier. How can I capture these moments? Well, the photographs will follow when my dinky disposable camera gets developed, so come back to check them out!

But I suppose the real news is that, after Waynefest, I just kept driving west until I arrived at my new home in Victoria! That’s right—I am officially a west coaster, chewing shrimp with the funky nomads and retired folk. More pics and news from here as well!

Keep in touch through the journal, a new addition to the website, where I’ll post stories and pictures from the road and my merry jaunts about this new city! And if you know anyone in Victoria, send me their email and I’ll shamelessly go make friends. I’ll be back in Saskatchewan before and after Christmas so keep updated on the shows!
